Ιστορικαί σημειώσεις: Το ποίημα του Σολωμού εδημοσιεύθη για πρώτη φορά στο Μεσολόγγι στα 1824. Η μουσική εγράφη στα 1828 και καθιερώθη ως Εθνικός Ύμνος στα 1864 μετά την ένωσι της Επτανήσου και της καθόδου του Βασιλέως Γεωργίου του Α`.
